Is this for here? Or, would you like it to go?

Or! Would you like it both ways? Well, now you can have it both ways! Companies that deal with a lot of sales staff, aka Road Warriors, that are on the road 80-90% of the time, can now communicate with them via IM. There are now Instant messenger apps for Blackberries and iPhones to help keep sales people updated of their in office functions. Now, if an important issue arises at work that needs your immediate feedback, it can now be dealt with immediately. This is probably one reason why sales have increased for some businesses. Having the upper hand on things at work while you are not there, could mean the difference between losing a sale and keeping one. This is extremely important when your dealing with loyal customers and large revenues. Which in turn could make all the difference in your personal income as well, especially if you are working on a commission basis.
So, before you lose it , use it.
Get the app and get the sales.
Then you can buy me lunch and I'll have it to go thanks!

  1. Is it possible to monitor these apps? I wonder if these apps can also possibly cause conflicts at work place. The apps definitely provide faster communication to get work done effectively. I wouldn't mind having one if I ever get promoted to management position.

  2. Hi Komal!

No, I don't think the apps out right now can be monitored. They are the more wide range apps like Yahoo messenger and Google. Maybe when they come out with a program that can be loaded in to both phone and computer but is only accessible by a specific organization.

  3. It's true that instant messaging offers a lot of unique benefits to employees and managers. Consider that immediate advice is needed and the only senior employee that could give that advice is sick and could not make it work. He could simply give that advice in the comfort of his own home by using an IM app, thus possibly preventing the loss of sales. Anybody away from work could communicate immediately, wherever they are, especially when it is needed the most.

By the way, that last line is hilarious, Steve.
